    I need an HDD guaranteed Wii U compatible. 8GB is a nightmare, yet this console won't format the drives I've tried. Including supposedly wall-powered ones (although they are old).

    Not too picky about design or capacity. Noise is a concern however.

    Maybe you have a console issue. I've never had a problem formatting even the cheapest flash drives on my wii u. Have you tried using a dual male to female y-jack?

    I haven't tried a flash drive. That'd just be for testing, anything I've got other than a hard drive is too small.
    Even then my Xbox 360 is using up the 320gb.

    a y-jack? I think one is around here. but no idea if it's broken.

    That's weird, never had any problem with any drive, SD card or HDD with my Wii U. Can you check the drives with somebody's else Wii U?

    Nope, no access to another Wii U.

    Woah. Neat tiny shape! I'm not really intending to buy more huge digital games, Darksiders 2 is a bundle fluke.
