WTB: Xbox and Saturn modchips

What the title says, I have a Model2 Power Supply and CD Drive if anyones interested and also money :thumbsup:

For XBox chips there is a guy on the XBox-Scene forums that goes by the name of Litspliff who sells $13 a pop Duo x2 chips. I've bought well over 15 chips from the man and he ships promptly and has great communication. I believe he still sells them there. ASSEMbler still has a few chips but I can't quote his price as I frankly don't know what it is. I myself have an old X-Bit solderless and X-tender laying around but I wouldn't give up either atm nor would I recommend you use either. You can build a cheapmod with the bare minimum of an IC and flashing it with the appropriate BIOS for a couple of bucks but you don't get any features and it is a bit difficult to do unless you have the hardware to flash the IC around and the knowledge to interpret available information.

As for Saturn chips Racketboy is the only place I've seen them be regularly available. ASSEMBler, again, once said he could get them for dirt cheap but he'd have to purchase a very large sum of these chips to get said price. Which made it cost prohibitive to want to keep stock of 50-100+ chips that he might not offload for some time. I'm guessing Racketboy had a similar deal drop into his lap and if I had that deal and the money in front of me I'd be tempted to as well.

Though I will admit it IS somewhat difficult to want to spend $30 on a Saturn then $30 on a chip. Particularly if you're hoping to score a sealed Panzer Dragoon Saga and play backups to preserve the original. Even more so if you find your saturn doesn't like the chip or you prefer a Model 1, V-Saturn or Hi-Saturn or Hi-Saturn Navi, etc.

Personally I'd be down building Saturn chips but the only schematic I found is far from something that I could potentially put into mass production for just the PCB. That and I'm about 80% certain that hand building this chips might be cost prohibitive unless something can be added feature wise.

 

Assembler told me he had a duo for $10 shipped but i pm'd him and hes really slow to respond, I have a model 1 saturn coming so im gonna have to rewire the chip but its nothin for me.If i had the hd and dvd for this xbox id just softmod it

 

Be patient, and don't criiticize people on their own forum! He has a life outside the forum, and if you cared to read the stickys etc. you'd realize he has been quite ill.

You won't get one cheaper, and that's a reasonable price anyway, I'd say.
