Looking to buy a debug kit, preferably one that already has been open so i dont have to ruin one. if not then ill buy that and keep those stickers intact. just would like to be able to play games that require a bigger hdd than stock lol

also google wallet is preferred way of payment.

    show me what you have!

If all you want is a bigger HDD than modding a retail would be far cheaper than buying a debug

Get retail Xbox > mod with chip or softmod
if with chip than simply place new HDD in Xbox and run say slayers disk or similar to format (I know there is a better one but can't remember name >__<)

If softmod than its a bit tougher but its possible as this is how I did mine but dang it took some time for me to get it right 0__0
Timing is key when using chimp BTW :3

already have multiple softmods with bigger hdd's, but looking for a debug kit for its hardware and its extra ram. also for beta disks. im not sure if you can just use the debug bios for beta disks but yeah. mainly after its extra ram and rather have a debug kit than just another softmod/chipped with a ram mod. idk of anyone who still does that either lol

Fair enough and yea I would also much rather have a real debug :3
just trying to save ya few bucks is all ^__^

also afaik a debug bios should let any Xbox read beta disks

hmm. well ill probablybuy one of many that im looking at and see. but ive always had issues with xdk bios on a softmodded/chipped console. doesnt seem to get all the functions on the PC end running windows xp. also trying to connect to RTH is a nightmare since it doesnt read the debug ip and just says cant connect. so was hoping maybe a legit debug kit could work. either way it'd be nice to own one as a collectible as well

If you're struggling I have kits in the UK. Give me a shout if you get no joy locally.

I just got two last night. I'm on my way to work but we can talk after. ~5pm Central Time (U.S.)
Both have some rust due to 'water damage' I'll send pics but I plan on cleaning them... their outsides are near IMMACULATE and are unopen. I plan on opening them and switching their metal cases but mobos should be fine. I knew someone that worked at an undisclosed company. They run fine and both have unique games...some chimp king of the hill game and some type of zombie game on the other. I'll probably do around $225 shipped each.

If you want a debug kit that has been opened for a HDD upgrade then you missed out. Picked one up for fairly cheap with a 120GB drive. Not selling. Not since it is at the post office now and I won't see it until tomorrow. Not going to give price since I was asked not to. Then again you may not have missed out since the offer for it was via PM and not a sale thread...

Besides, if you're just after it for the 128Mb of RAM and the ability to play beta games then a 128MB modded retail with the Phoenix BIOS loader for debug kernels will work. Or you can edit a BIOS to have debug options. The Xecuter X2 5035 BIOS has 128MB support, LBA48 for 2TB drive upgrades, and has an option to allow debug stuff to run from a retail based dashboard. Won't have the full debug tools that way though.

Last option is what is known as the "fake debug mod". That uses the Phoenix BIOS loader on a retail board to load a modified debug kernel to boot the XDK launcher dash with full debugging tools functioning. Works with the 128MB mod too of course.

EDIT: Here's how to do that last one since google searches for it come up bare... http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/modules.php?name=SWF_Tutorials&func=play&gid=17

That debug is a great unit! :) I feel like you really could use it and we have become friends so I thought I would share a debug with ya! I had 2 debugs, The one I sold you has a DVT-4 board (version 1.0) green model. The one I kept is a green model also but it has the newer DVT-6 (either a version 1.2 or 1.3) motherboard and those are way harder to come by! I also want a DVT-4 crystal DEVELOPMENT KIT. I would really like to be a DVT-6 motherboard also. But I will not break the seals to find out.

2 questions I have that I was wondering about.

    1) Did all debugs come the thompson drive? mine is a born on 07-079-2003 and it has a thompson. It also has another sticker on the drive saying it is a XDK model
    2) How can I tell if it is a 1.2 or 1.3? None of the apps work for the version checking. Confihg magic even does not work on debugs

Well there you have it. davidthomas sold it to me.

anyways, modding a debug for what you want is not the way to go. People with them should either keep them as they are for collections or put them to use. Granted mine has been SLIGHTLY modded with the HDD upgrade but I actually view that as a bonus for my intentions. I will be using it for doing game code data dumps to help debug some new apps coming out that I got right in the middle of since I have the needed modded hardware to test them on the retail side of the console. The debug is just to, well, debug these apps...

Don't mod a debug this way. 'nuff said.

I agree with sonicdude. I will upgrade the hard drive on units that have been opened before. No reason to break the seals on a unit that is still a virgin. The bigger hard drive can be helpful since the stock drive is a pitiful size! I use a 160gig drive since the debug has a 137 gig barrier, This way I get all of the 137 that I can. Only the remaining 20 something gigs gets wasted. If yo use the 120gig after it is formatted you get a lot less of the allowed 137 gigs.
