Today I was perplexed when I saw a couple of sealed Nintendo 64 and Sega Dreamcast games for sale at my local WalMart. I'm guessing they were left in the inventory over the years. I only ended up buying a sealed Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2, but what do you guys think? Good deals? It would've been great if I saw, let's say, a sealed Zelda OOT... Not really interesting, but here's what I saw: Nintendo 64 3x Backstage Assault: $8.00 3x Tony Hawk 3: $11.00 Sega Dreamcast 1x Phantasy Star Online Version 2: $15.00 3x Quake III Arena: $15.00 5x Sega Bass Fishing 2: $15.00 1x Tom Clancey's Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear: $23.00 2x Tom Raider Chronicles: $15.00 -EDIT Just checked eBay... arrgghh, refund it is! :banghead:
Eh, only thing of interest is PSO V2, but everything else was overpriced for what it was (Well, Tony Hawk 3 may be something to pick up. Didn't it get low distribution?)
THPS 3 was the only one on that list that stood out to me, I'd get it just to have it anyway. Never did understand why N64 got the port but DC didn't.
If you mean to buy PSOv2 on eBay, I think an already registered copy of PSO v2 won't let you play online. I might be wrong though.
This isn't an entirely uncommon affair either. Large department stores like Wal-Mart and Sears constantly have dead inventory that they need to move. If they don't manage to sell their remaining copies they will store them in the back. The trick is to find when they bring out their previously stored games and pick them up at clearance. For example, only a few months ago a local K-Mart was selling sealed copies of Front Mission 3 and Galerians.
