    Hey Guys

As many of you know i do love MS's big black box, but sadly i am in need of some funds quite quickly so have decided to sell off one of my Media Centre Xbox's

    So here we go!

It is a V1.2 motherboard (conexant chip), Hardmodded with a Xecuter 3ce Chip, It is housed in a XCM Blue case (identical colour to the Halo 2 / Kasumi Blue case) and has a X-LCD front panel with LCD Screen on the front, this displays all sorts of wonderful things for you in conjunction with the XBMC dashboard such as running time for movies, music etc, file information, date/time, temp etc.the list goes on! there is also a clear Xecuter Jewel on the top

it has a 120gb Hitachi HDD installed and a Samsung 605f DVD drive, which has never been tampered with and works flawlessly, and is a very quiet drive for reading discs, and the IDE cable has been changed to a UDMA 66/100 Cable for Faster data transfer

The Fan has been replaced with a 80mm one which is virtually silent, and both heatsinks have been removed, thermal paste applied and then both heatsinks replaced

Whats special about this XBOX is that the internal ram has been upgraded from the original 64mb to 128mb, this means more memory for use with mame, finaburn etc, so is ideal for emulation and media playback

Also in conjunction with the Xecuter 3 chip, there is a option to boot to the XDK dashboard, so it can also be used as a full Debug Kit with the appropriate XDK software installed on the HDD, but as this may be classed as illegal, and is a bit of a grey area, i will not leave this on the HDD but will give whoever purchases the XBOX instructions on how to do this if they so wish

The HDD has been completely wiped, and a fresh install of XBMC is on there as the default dash, along with a couple of other Apps including Enigmah Video mode switcher and DVD2XBOX there are no games, roms etc on the drive as this is against AG rules

It is currently set to NTSC mode to enable HD output of 480p/720p and 1080i, so media playback is pretty astounding when connected to a HDTV or similar

The PSU is a standard 220/240v one, suitable for UK/Europe, but if anyone wishes i can also include a 110v psu if needed

So whats included in this i hear you ask??

    Well heres the full list

    The console itself
    1x Official Blue 'S' Pad
    1x Unofficial Madkatz Wireless Pad
1x Psyclone Component cable set with optical output (in my opinion easially as good as the official MS HD Pack)
    1x Powerlead
1x Official Composite Cable and Scart block
    1x Unofficial 8mb Memory Card

Ill also include a few original games, and a load of OXM discs as well

Price wise, Im looking for Around £170 or best offer for this, which includes courier delivery within the UK, i am a bit reluctant to post overseas to to costs involved, but if you are genuinely interested then let me know and i will work out the best possible price.

If you feel the price for this is too high, bear in mind the work that has been involved in the building of it, and the modifications done (ie memory upgrade, cost of the chip and LCD panel etc)

I can accept payment by Paypal, Bank Transfer, Cheque / Postal order or Cash sent registered mail

Unfortunately no trades on this at the moment as i need the cash (unless of course you have a NTSC PS3!)

I have included several pictures below for your viewing pleasure, (with my name included to abide by AG rules) but if you need more then left me know!

very tempting, but nearly the price of a US PS3. What do you say for a reduced price, payed by half-money half-trade? We can discuss the details in private if you wish Sir.

Nice machine, I wish that you were over here as I would pick it up instantly. The ram chips for the upgrade are pretty much impossible to find now.

How much do you think that shipping to the U.S. would cost? I might still be interested depending on what that comes out to.

Just done a quick check, as not at home right now, but it will be around the £60 mark for 3-5 days courier shipping to USA which included compensition cover for upto £250 and full online tracking

I will check properly later to see if i can get a better price than that though

I hope you don't mind questions that aren't relevant to the sale, but did you do the ram upgrade yourself?

cause until I saw this thread...I wasn't aware you can upgrade your xbox ram

A quick google pulls up this. I can imagine hunting down chips would be a pain.

All the best with the sale :)

Not to thread crap, but you can even upgrade the processor, such a thing was sold under the name "DreamBox", if I remember right (it had the ram upgrade as well, weird USB key modchip, etc).

On topic, awesome blue case, Microsoft should have sold those more widely.

Indeed, there were several versions made, up to a 1.4Ghz P4 was the highest spec, only problem with them was that it was virtually impossible to play retail games on the system without patching them, and hardly any Homebrew apps actually utilised the power of the processor upgrade

I personally didnt do the ram upgrade myself, as it requires very fine soldering work to install the chips, i actually purchased it as a pre-installed with the ram upgrade, and have never had a problem in the 18 months it has been in my possession

I shall add some more pics shortly showing the ram install on the motherboard, so you can see the excellent job that has been done, and also a pic of the dashboard showing the ram usage as i neglected to do this in the original post

would it be possible to put a 500gb disc in this, or is 200 the limit? If you can I may be tempted to buy it as an uber media center/media server

This will easily take a 500gb drive in it, i did have one in int previously, but needed it for my main server so swapped it with a 200gb, as with the xecuter 3 chip and bios it will theoretically take up to a 1Tb drive

If you wanted to put a bigger drive in it, i may be willing to drop the price a bit and just included a smaller capacity hdd so you could upgrade at your leisure

Yep, you can go up to 2tb, providing the BIOS is a 'newish', 'popular' one.

Isn't the Dreambox a very hackable DVB-S receiver with similar multimedia functions?
(ie has a HD, runs custom software, etc)

Really nice xbox you're selling, if I had the cash I would go for it!

By the way, shouldn't that be 250GB? I never heared of a 240GB Maxtor HDD.

As usual my memory has failed me, ive just opened it up, and it is a 200gb Maxtor drive as i first thought!

Also it is in fact a Samsung 605f dvd drive rather than a philips!

I also neglected to mention that there are blue LED lights in each of the controller ports, and i also have a spare 80mm fan with blue LED lights as well ( i took it out as was personally too bright for me)

So heres some more lovely pics of the internal 'gubbins' and also shows the extra ram chips

God no! i'm terrible with a soldering iron! i bought it already done, the seller originally had it done my someone at llama's website i believe, i would take some pics of the solderwork on the underside, but to be honest it would be too much hassle to take it all to pieces
