    Hi,

    today i want to sell my Prototype TEST PS3. The BD drive take no discs!
    The Unit is booting up without problems. FW 3.5 is installed.
    I try to fix the drive but im not able to fix it :DOH:.
    First i was thinking the bd drive is broken. I buy an complete BD drive from a working unit. Also a new laser unit! The Drive comes with all cables.
    Than i try to change the bd drive sensor. The drive takes no discs...
    Last idea was to change the bd drive IC, but i dont have the tools to do this.
    I also have changed the fan inside for a better silent one!

    So at all i sell this lovely unit as it is!

    So what is include:


    • PS3 Debugging PROTOTYPE unit (100-240V, without corts or controller) with new Silent Fan!
    • BD-Drive laser
    • BD-Drive sensor
    • BD-Drive IC
    Hope someone have the time and tools to fix the ps3.
    I spend alone for the parts around 100-120€...

    Nice console, sorry to hear of your troubles with it. I have a DEH-H as well, though mine is one of the smoky clear models. Still, I feel your pain on a DEH-H with a bad BD drive, I barely use mine as I want it to continue to function for a long time, which of course begs the question why don't I sell it for my Vita Japan import... : ) Ahh, collecting things... : )

    the BD drive is an easy fix
    you just need to jailbreak the console and then
    remarry the new BD bored

    Ok i know for sure its a voltage problem with the Q6010 chip. I try to change the chip with an retail one. But now i have only the 5V not the 12V. Maybe the chip is different from retail - prototype. Or something wrong with my solders...
    The Unit is still booting well.
    I also change the thermal compound.
    The Power on/off Panel is now also without voltage, i think controled by same chip.

    So i quit now at this point. The Problem is located but i cant fix it. Maybe someone else. I drop the price for the unit.
    The complete replacement drive is sold.

    Good luck to the buyer, you need it ;-).
