Today i want to sell my Katana. The Unit has new fans (also the PSU got a silent fan).
The HDD is also a "new" one. Show correct in GD workshop without problems.
The condition is good but the GD-Drive dont work.
I sell this unit loose as it is!

Anyway its a 5.24 Kit booting up fine and the DA Check finished also both sides green like you can see in the pictures.

The Kit is in really good shape, both drives working, The Antenna is also in perfect condition. Unit come with original PSU and the H110. Running Firmware 6.60

Does the gd drive spin a disc? If so the disc drive may not be in the right mode. My dev box was originally in dev mode and after I switched it to os mode I thought the disc drive was broken. But it turned out I had to use GD Workshop and switch it to GD Rom mode. After that it worked great. I hope my limited knowledge helps.

 

I tryed near anything on software side. I think its a Hardware issue somewhere.

Bad drive or not, i think a very good price at all.

 

I would have jumped on this if it was working/unmodified.

I do have a question though, I know the va0 dreamcast uses the 5v Yamaha drive and the va1 Dreamcast uses the 3.3v Sanyo drive, just wondering if you replaced it with the correct drive. Perhaps that might be the issue?

Would you happen to still have the old fans/heat sinks that were removed?

 

Hm yes, that can be possible because i have spareparts of both.
The old fans are shit. I dont have it any more. There is no need for, the new cooling system is awesome..

 

Think he wants the orginal parts cause it gives it more value like a old vintage car with original parts you swap out the parts you break down the collectable value

 

Keep me updated on what you find out about the drives, I might be interested in it.

 

I not really like to open the kit again..
