    Yup, turns out i bought a sata drive instead of IDE and my external enclosure only accepts IDE, i bought a converter, but it doesn't work (doesn't work with my old sata drive from my macbook either, so it's the converter), the drive is new and im willing to trade for a slightly used one. some one help :"(

    Are you willing to do a trade or something for it. Im kinda out on cash since the holidays are here but I have been looking for a 400+ sized one for cheap.

    Issues on what? That seagate drive is pretty rock solid, and NCQ can be disabled for older motherboards.

    Seems like the firmware on certain batches is gimped, giving you only 70% performance. I dont want to take the risk :p
