I'm looking to buy or trade for a PSP 1000. Has to be 1000 model to work
with my psp2tv. Preferable already softmodded.

I have a PSP SCPH-1000 (orinally came from Japan) in mint condition with everythinh.
It comes with the newest 5.0 M33 firmware.

I can sell it or trade, but I prefer money by paypal.

Not sure if I'm too late on this but I also have a PSP 1000 unit. The unit is in good shape but has a Tekken D-pad stuck on to it (it can be removed). I still have the box, manuals, charger, etc.

It too is loaded with CFW 5.

I'm up for a reasonable sale.

I could get you one with 5.00 M33-5 for like $100+shipping. We have a ton of them at work.

it might sound obvious to you but if you don't have the psp yet why don't you just take one of the 2k series and use the official cables to output even component if you wish ?

Because psp2tv is full screen, not the smaller image of the official output.

Assembler- thought I should comment in on this, having owned a PSP2TV on my old firstgen 1000...

Basically, there's very little written up about the psp2tv mainly due to the way it interfaces directly to the lcd interface...
It's a nice kit, granted, but there's some nasty line drop-out due to scaling.

More or less, there's just NO solution to getting 480x272 lcd res to display on any screen NICELY... which leads us to the next option

While the psp2000-3000 video out isn't fullscreen, the image quality is FAR superior as it's pixel accurate-

The solution to all your problems I hear would be the LKV7000 psp to vga converter, which also features scaling- sadly, it interfaces with the psp after the normal psp remote to component output, so you don't get scaled component output, but upscaling for the vga output seems nice- I have one on order, so I'll at least check it out.

hope this is of some use.

I won it off ebay. It cost me about $60, used. It arrived in excellent shape.
I needed it to make a psp console, I don't want to have a giant power hungry ps3 on just to use a normal controller.

    Maybe consider buying a go?

It will have TV out (no word if it's full screen) & you can use a PS3 DS3 controller on the system through it's added bluetooth functionality (sony has confirmed you can use a DS3 with a Go).

Well $250 actually. The PSP go also has 16GB of flash memory and looks like it's bundled with a free game.

got the LKV7000 in on Friday and have been fooling around with it- if you have a widescreen vga-capable display, it's amazing quality!
it does have a little blur, but is pixel accurate at least, unlike the PSP2TV...
the only downside is that on 4x3 displays, it fills the whole display when in zoom mode (the mode that allows fullscreen games), so you either have to adjust your monitor's V-Size, or deal with a tall display.

On non-zoomed, it looks fine, but is more or less what we already have out of the stock cable, so it's not a huge advantage there...
anyway, I'll probably be picking up a proper 16x9 display to use with it down the road when I'm not using my projector.

Definitely recommend over the PSP2TV as long as you don't need PSX controller support out of the box.

I need a psx controller, I have bad carpal tunnel. handhelds aren't really
    an option for me.

ah, not a problem- my friend who ended up with my old psp2tv modded system had a similar situation- on that basis, short of hacking a psx(2) controller to a slim- you've got a point!
