Do we have any X-perts in the house :smt043 Sorry Just tried to link up a De-Bug console with a standard console for some multiplayer fun. Didn`t seem to recognise each other............ Am I doing something wrong or is it only like for like consoles that link?
Did you try just running a standard ethernet cable between the two? If you did, that's your problem You need either a router/hub to run the standard ethernet cables through, or an Xbox System link cable, which is just a crossover Cat5 cable.
I forgot to say I am running them via a HUB as apparently a straight through cable doesn`t work....it has to be a crossover cable. Is really odd......and a pain as means I will have to get yet another X-Box When I plug in two standard consoles all is fine
Wait a second - are you using crossover to the hub? e.g. - excuse the crudeness of this: Debug Xbox>--(crossover)-->hub<--(crossover)--<xbox ? if so then it needs to be either 1 crossover cable directly between xboxes, or striaght through to the hub on both ends Sorry if you had done that though
I am using straight throughs to the hubs As I say works with two retail machines...but not witha de-bug? :angry
Xbox Game Link Alan> You can link any two Xboxes (debug, retail, whatever) for system link gameplay and it will work, however both boxes MUST BE RUNNING THE EXACT SAME CODE REVISION. For example, running Game X (debug version) on the debug and Game X (retail version) on the retail unit will result in a failed link. Likewise you cannot expect to run a PAL game on one machine and a NTSC game on another and expect them to link. HTH -hl718
Thanks 4 that Sounds sensible didn`t know why I didn`t think of it :smt043 Next question Anyone got a DEBUG copy of HALO-Combat Evolved? :smt023
