Some games will run with a standard Md pad others wont, Ive also been told that most games will can be played with a Master system pad. Ive got loads of games which I have not been able to play yet.
I've just found the controller data sheet at gamesx: http://gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=controls:sega_atari_msx_x68000 Mega Drive and Master System should be compatible. Amiga Joysticks have +5v on a different pin. But what about C64 and Atari joysticks? Are these identical to Amiga joysticks?
People, I am thinking about something. The Amiga Computer and the X68000 used the 68000 family, but did they ever use the same CPU (at some point) in the family ? So if somebody was interested in exchanging some hardware such as a higher MHZ cpu from one machine to another ? Or is that a no go all the way ? and am I just babbling ?
I'd imagine it'd be easiest to locate the clock crystal on the mainboard and change that (i.e. overclocking the 68k), you'd need to check whether anything else derived its clock from the crystal first though.
thanks for the info. However I would prefer to use my C64 joysticks for the Sharp X68000 because I have excellent arcade sticks with turbo and auto-fire switches for the C64. The X68000 game pads do look a bit plainly, except for the CyberStick.
eeerhm C64 had one buttoned joysticks ? I mean couldn´t there be a possibility of hacking a two buttoned C64 joystick ? I mean I have played C64 games with a two buttoned joystick, but then again it was perhaps that were two buttoned joysticks that were compatible to C64, Amiga , Sega Master System (heck I used to have two of such joysticks to my Master System and Amiga 2000). Thanks to a switch in the bottom of the joystick. Wouldn´t it be possible to hack the switch to make it X68000 Compatible ? Or what about hacking a famiclone joystick to be used with the X68000 ?
a question about the video pinout. http://www.gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=av:japanese_rgb-15 Is this the pinout for the connector on the mainboard or on the video cable?
got my X68000 today:dance: The numbers are shown on the connector, that's easy:icon_bigg unfortunately I have no software. Is it possible to copy Sharp X68000 disk images onto a 1,2MB 5,25 disk with a PC? I've got an old 5,25" floppy drive and some spare disks from a friend.
