Eaton Zveare the author of FATXplorer as released a public poll for to see if usere may like to implement features to the software, One of the items on poll is support for the original xbox support for partitioning/ formatting HDD's and windows intergration etc... http://fatxplorer.eaton-works.com/2015/03/27/fatxplorer-feature-poll/ I currently use his software for my 360 and it is briliant it transferes at speeds far exceding ftp and is very handy for swapping content and setting up hdd's for the 360 with security sectors and formatting and setting up memory devices as a one click solution and is a valuable tool I would reccomend it. This tool would enable us to settup hdd's on the PC with ease for modding xbox consoles and transfering files quickly from the pc or another hdd
The 360 version transfers at speeds like HDD to HDD on the pc, I get speeds any where from 25 to 55mb per second on an old 320 gig 2.5" hdd. It would be nice to get speeds like that when transfering files to the xbox, ftp is real slow specially with small files.
Xbox 1 support would be fantastic. Doing (most) everything through FTP is aggravating. Defragmentation would be excellent as well, but I'm not going to hold my breath for that one. Voted.
FYI, if the drive is unlocked you can use Xplorer360 to connect an original Xbox hard drive via PC and copy files. I've even done it with an IDE to USB adapter.
Yes you can but it is really slow. and it is not really designed for setting up harddisks, partitioning etc.
Never claimed it was designed to set up hard disks; only mentioned you could copy files over with it (at reasonable speeds, too).
This is nice, but doesn't Xplorer360 already support original Xbox? Haven't been around in the Xbox scene since 2010/2011
Xport 360 and xplorer 360 modio etc are designed with the 360 in mind not the xbox. I believe FATxplorer will offer formatting partitioning and locking hardisks content view error checking and windows intergration maybe more like drive locking and eeprom managment maybe even a boost mode ftp client who knows? The windows intregration feature lets you use it like it was a native drive of the pc seamless to the user,so cut paste search etc all work, and it is quite cool it is what I use the most with my 360 hdd's It will be a solution to pop in your harddisk and setup it up ready to use in an Xbox. They sort of all have a different use and are more aimed at game save modding and popping on a file or two, where FATXplorer it aimed as a toolbox type application.
I love Linux, but another (better? currently supported) Original Xbox FatX explorer thing would be great
