right i have two xboxes in my house one upstairs in my room and one downstairs in the living room. My question is would it be possible to system link them so that they both stay where they are (1 Upstairs and the other downstairs) i don't really know much about system link but i was thinking i would probably need to use my ethernet HUB but i'm not sure if it is possible to do and if so how i would set things up Your help would be much appreciated
You can do Wireless system link by using two XBOX Wireless Adapters, but that would be a little expensive.
thanx Alien Workshop. If i got a XBOX Wireless Adapter would it work with a xbox plugged into wireless router?? i would find it annoying to unplug my TV and its many cables and its is also damm heavy
you could also use powerline ethernet adaptors. very easy to set up and not as expensive as wireless adaptors. http://www.hifi-regler.de/pictures/special/dLAN-Adapter-in-wand.jpg
I don't see why not, but I can't say for sure because I've never tried it myself. I've done system link before, but never wireless before (I've always just used a crossover cable to connect one XBOX directly to the other). However, when I log on to XBOX Live, I use the wireless adapter to connect to my home Wi-Fi network. When I first bought my Wireless adapter, I was looking at what it was capable of and I noticed that you could use the adapters for system link as well.
System Link also works via a (network) switch, so you can just run a connection from one to the other. I'm not sure if it'll work via a router though.
Thanx for your replies i'll try a few things out and see?? you can use a router or ethernet hub but i don't know if it will work for just the two consoles??
