My nightmare hasn't ended. Mr Hard has received his Xbox in Italy and has booted it up. The problem being that it looks like the packaging has taken a knock in transit and the following error comes up on screen. 21 - anywhere - This error says that the machine was booted to display a error, basically someone told the machine to reboot (or launch a xbe) with this flag, and the error code just means its been rebooted by the flag (The above is from Llama Xbox: With thanks!) I've never seen this error message before and not sure whether it's something I can assist with fixing, anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Is this a regular box or a dev box? Might want to cross post in Microsoft as well so it gets more eyes. -hl718
Sorry, yeah just retail, but reading further in other areas I suspect that the Xbox has a soft hack on it (XBMC) and it might be a conflict issue. Advice very welcome as it was working fine and it's barely been used. Annoying end to this whole DHL fiasco. Going to bed, so will read / post tomorrow. Thanks!
Something's up with the dashboard. I fixed one of these a LONG time ago. Don't even remember anything about it (at least I think it was 21...) Does it only do that when booting directly to the dashboard? Will it boot to a game with one inserted? Will it boot if you turn it on with the eject button instead of the power button?
Strange as it worked fine before it was sent... Hopefully he'll get back to me today and let me know whether it sorted itself out.
This is a wild guess, but if it was working fine when you sent it maybe the hard drive was damaged in transit?
That was my first thought. I haven't heard back yet as to whether it is happening all the time or it was just the once.
