a record, true. but who cares if nothings interesting? i don't say nothing is interesting in the lineup, but that's close to it.
The Playstation was always given props due to its immense library of games, despite the fact that very few games were any good. It's all about the number of titles and the resulting "choice" that gamers have. Can't say I agree with this logic myself as I'm more of a "quality vs quantity" type of guy, but I say do whatever it takes to gain ground on the Sony empire.
Alien Hominid started as a Flash game, and it's one of the best platform shooters I have ever played -_- - EDIT - SuperGrafx beat me to the punch!
i never said flash games where bad. i just say they can be made quickly and without alot of effort. Alien Hominid is great, but that's clearly a metal slug ripoff
Metal Slug rip-off? It isn't even remotely close to resembling Metal Slug. The only similarities they share are that they are both Platform Shooters, which btw MS wasn't the first platform shooter. Also, I don't know if you have ever worked with flash but it isn't as easy as you say. It takes time, effort, and talent. Personally, I thought the artwork for AH was awesome, and I would love to see more games like it. You make light of such creative work, but I doubt you could make a game as good. Oh, and the console version doesn't use Flash, it was completely redone.
:smt022 and yeah, i do know how flash is working, it's though, but not as though as things you see these days. and i still thinks it looks really close to metal slug, no mather if metal slug was the first of its kind or not.
So Kameo is a launch title then? This may end up being the first console i've ever bought the first day it was out if so. On the other subject: Alien Hominide, I realy wish they would bring the game out for XBox in the states already. I don't want to pick it up for ps2 due to the 2 players only problem, and I don't want to get it for gamecube because of the controllers lousy d-pad. Now for a little story on my persuit of an xbox version of the game for those who are interested: Previous to it being released in Europe (just after it came out for PS2 and GCN, it was put on hold for the XBox), I contacted Behemoth (the developers). This is what I posted on another board as to what they said and some comments I made: -------------------- "Ultimately it is up to our publisher for the release of the Xbox version, we hope to see it as soon as possible. If and when it does come out just check back on our site for all of your update needs." o it looks as though their publisher is indeed holding back the xbox version for some reason. I will be contacting the publisher tonight to find out the reason for this. I anyone cares (which im sure some of you do) I will post their response here. One other thing before I go, their is indeed a reason to get the xbox version over the gamecube one. The gamecube version (like all gamecube games) will be running in 24bit color and might affect how the game looks. For the average gamer this almost certainly wont be noticable but I run all of my current gen systems through component on an hd tv, so every little mistake/difference between versions is more clear to see. The playstation 2 runs in 32 bit color, but their is a chance it will be running in a lower resolution. Either way, most people will get it for their system of preference and not look to get what would be the *best* version (from a technical standpoint). ------------------------ After that I contacted the Publisher, and once again this is what I posted on another board as to what they said and some comments I made: ------------------------ Ok, I have receaved a response from the publisher (the CEO himself responded, possibly because we have the same last name...). Anyhow, this is what he said: Dear Greg: Thank you for the email to our site. Contrary to what you may have heard from anyone else, we at O~3 are not "holding" Alien Hominid for XBOX. Our development studio, The Behemoth, necessarily focused on releasing the PS2 an GC versions first, because that is how they developed the game. Once we were able to get the them to complete the core game, we immediately began the port to XBOX. It is NOT completed yet, unfortunately. O~3 Entertainment is a publisher for all platforms, and as such, has no interest at all in "holding" one platform over another. We are working with our developer to not only complete the XBOX port, but to incorporate a few "subtle" additions to make the game even more appealing to our customers and the Alien fans. Thank you so much for asking the question. Clearly our decision to move forward with the XBOX is warranted. The Behemoth, like O~3, will be working diligently to provide Alien Hominid as rapidly as possible. Best Regards, Bill Gardner (no relation, I think) President & CEO So I guess the xbox version is still in the works, and will be receaving improvements over the PS2 and Gamecube versions. So now you all know whats happening with the XBox version. Any questions/comments?
i though so too, it was also a budgeted title, is it worth picking up, i though about maybe getting it sometime.
