hey, i currently have a xbox 360 slim thats rghed and a xbox 360 retail. its the big block jasper and i was thinking about rjatagging or rghing the xbox and installing team xecuter fusion and makeing the xbox look dev kit esque and have a functional sidecar. how i plan to do this is to mod the top panel of the xbox to have the shape of a sidecar and i can put a 1tb hard drive inside along with a xkey360, essentially makeing it a fuly functional hard drive with dvd drive emulation. i wanted to paint it to look like a black and blue xna or just a white xbox dev kit couple questions i have tho: 1.will an rjtag load txfusion or will i have to rgh, i would prefer better load times 2.how would i go about painting the blueish chrome like on the xna?, preferably with just rattlecans 3.what would be a good plastic to use to make the sidecar? i was thinking plexy, i can bend it with a heatgun im doing this because i cant afford an actual xna, and it would be a cool project to have a homebrew xna. i have soldering skill and experience spray painting
Hi not I'm not sure about this but I'm pretty sure xecuter stopped support for tax fusion and its no longer going to be updated but rgloader is and from this page it also supports jtags http://rgloader.spiffy360.com/thread-251.html As for the side car I have no experience with moulding plastics, shaping plastics etc I would probably look into making it with a sheet of aluminium, for me I would imagine it would be easier to shape and play around with to get it looking exact plus with a transparent blue paint you get a chrome-ish looking finish better than any chrome spray paints I've ever used anyways, the cap is always so misleading, either that or I'm crap at spray painting I hope it's not the second choice good luck and hope you get it all sorted be sure to post pics when your done
Also, don't quote me on this, but if you plan to rgh or jtag, you don't need to use a xk3y to run games off a HDD.
Totally correct. You can use tools to convert games into Games on Demand format, use Freestyle Dash and format games appropriately or even a file browsing application and just run the default.xex (or is xbe? Sorry been awhile since I've used Xbox).
Yeah you don't even need to convert to game on demand if your using freestyle dash just extract the DVD freestyle has the feature built in and plonk it in a folder, point freestyle to where your games will be stored and there you go sorted no need for xkey, I'm assuming the original poster must already know this if his xbox is already rgh'd so I'm assuming he must be intending to use it as a retail/xdk dual boot machine but just a word of warning the xdk firmware requires extra files to be stored on the hard drive which no doubts would be obviously present if m$ checks for them, so you may be risking a ban there unless you switch out the hdd whenever you wanna play on live, which would be a pain in the arse if you ask me Edit. Just thinking about it if your planning to do this with the jagged console you can't actually have a retail/jtag setup as updating retail would disable your jtag so the xkey in this situation is just pointless just add a nice big hdd in the "sidecar" and store your games on there
