Please post any pictures you have of the various revisions of the devkits. I am sure most of you are familiar with the boards, but this is for historical purposes 5-7 years from now when people begin to forget.
Just ripping these pictures from my post in the Consumer Waste Devkit thread. These are pictures of a pre-release Xenon revision X803600-009 motherboard. Disregard the LED lights. I believe they were manufactured during the late Summer of 2005. http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/2099/img0178jp.jpg (the motherboard) http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/4796/img0179u.jpg (closeup of the motherboard) http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/3207/img0183ol.jpg (mobo revision number)
I had a 009 whose case said it was manufactured in 2008, but that was probably just the case manufacture date, but they were boxed kits ready to be handed to developers. Nothing special about em at all really. Some were put out to developers later anyways. They aren't beta kits. Just thought I'd add info about consoles people post to add to the archive. ;P
That's odd. Mine came in a case from 2008 as well. I guess we both received kits with "factory re-fit" motherboards. Yeah, these consoles aren't special. They're almost exactly the same as launch Xenon's.
I had one of those weird 2008 Xenon devkits, I just opened it and saw its pretty much a launch motherboard. But the weird thing was, that it really seemed like they were re-balled, making me think they might be chinese kits, but mine came with all the official documents and acsesories. I'm struck by their origin. Ill upload pics later, but basically it has alot of resin near the gpu+cpu making me think they were reballed, but by MS? Who knows.
Mine is also in a 2008 case, but the serial on the case doesnt match that on the mobo, or in the system settings. I will post pictures later
Keep in mind the kit I spoke of is the same LEo and a few others had, and someone else on thisboard, forgot his name.. Kits originated from the US, not going to say where. They weren't brought from china but they were weird ones. They weren't played around with by third company though. All boxed and done by MS and co. Can't be suprised about much of those really. But were slightly derailing this thread now so let's stop about discussion of 009s? Unless assembler is cool with it. Also assembler, if you wish to archive the images, I would put them on your server incase other hosting services remove the image or etc. ;P
Well a notable revision of zephyr is one I recently moved on the marketplace. The first batch of zephyr had blue motherboards, but they are rarely seen. Here's my pictures from the sale if you'd like to archive:

Here's a late 2008 jasper prototype with a 512mb nand. I had to replace the x-clamps with screws because the board had a LOT of flux residue from the factory. Alcohol alone wouldn't clean it so I had to use a goo-off (water based) formula. I used that and cleaned the board over with alcohol multiple times and let it dry. About 95% of the flux was cleaned off. It fired right up and the motherboard now looks great. I also professionally replaced the yellow LED with a red LED near the top next to the HDD port. I honestly didn't like yellow/orange at all. Sorry for the huge pictures. Here's a link to the album. http://s987.photobucket.com/albums/ae355/xsv161/late 2008 jasper proto pics/
Here are some pics of my rrodxenon stress test Some dumb ass who i shipped this kit to to get a reflow started to melt some of the ports
