Today I sent a mail to UK publisher 505games to ask if their title A-Train HX would run on a Japanese Xbox 360. They replied saying that it was an MS "E-signed" game (quotation marks in original) and that was all they could say. So, does this mean that it's actually region locked? Hopefully someone with industry insight can shed light on that. It sounds like it is some internally used naming.
Yeah, that came to my mind for a second. But in this context it's more likely that it's supposed to mean "Europe".
This was the reply to my second mail already. The first one was "we don't think it works", honestly. I'd really like to know if this refers to a region lock or just to the region the game is to be released in. Also, why is this specific information something the publisher doesn't want (or isn't allowed) to disclose?
It's most likely something that the average CS rep just doesn't *know* nor know how to find out. The region lock is applied when the code is submitted. Chances are only a few people know what was included on the check box when the master image was sent in for replication. The easiest way is to find someone who has it and ask them to dump the default.xex file from the disc. Then read the file into xorloser's tool and see what region flags are set. -hl718
Thank you for that reply. After looking around a bit, I found this: http://abgx360.net/verified.php?f=name&q=A-Train+HX If this source is to be trusted, it is indeed region locked.
