Now, the 360 is a damn powerful machine. It's really going to blossom into something great, but why the fuck can't a dev use a nice high level of anisotropic filtering? It seems most games use it at around 4x, to do their best impression of a N64. It sucks balls :-(

Is there a technical reason for this or is it just lazyness? Anisotropic filtering impacts my system way less than most other graphic techniques, I'd assume the 360 would be the same.

oddly enough even when playng pc games that utilize high spec cards, this is apparent. Possibly a resoloution issue?

Most 360s owners won't notice the effect playing on a standard TV. And I can't tell the difference between 8x Anisotropic filtering and 0 filtering.
