I have heard that you can run one of these via your PC as it has a USB out If this is the case does anyone know if you can run it straight to a TV that also has a USB port?
If you connect it to a PC you still need a HD DVD capable player (software). So you can't just connect it to the TV and play movies....
Yeah, the drive is just the physical means of accessing the media. You still need something else to process the audio/video.
How much does the xbox360 HD-DVD drive cost ? in US $ or Euro and so forth. Since it would be cool to see beside my pc.
Awesome, thanks for mentioning it. Since it costs a LOT here. Something like 2000+(sometimes a little bit "cheaper") kroner which is something like 200 £ and 400 US $ are you sure, you are not just yanking my chain when it comes to that XBOX360 HD-DVD drive ?
When MS discontinued the hd drive some stores were selling them pretty cheap in the US.I have seen them sell for 40 bucks and below and yes K-mart was selling them for 5 bucks just to get rid of them but that was sometime ago.I don't even think stores sell the hd drive anymore.
I had 2 of them that I got for free....gave one away to a friend and sold the other one on yahoo for $30..... If only you had posted a few weeks earlier...heh....
Amazon.de was once shaking them off for 10 Euros, now they aren't available any more. They hardly reach 40 Euros on ebay though. Besides, I really can't imagine that these Drives are going for 400$ @WDK. Their retail price was something like 200$, right? And even a standalone Toshiba HDDVD-player won't cost more than ~100-150€. So why the hell would there be a 360-requiring player that costs more than twice that price?
ave: because of taxes mate. But perhaps, I was a bit too high on the price when I looked it up, but still it is an insane price non the less.
Most Gamestations down south were £19.99 or £24.99 with 2 films, so treated my son to one. So now the little beggar as a HD tv (OK only 19in) HD and a surround sound - he loves playing HALO on it all
