XBOX 360 - microsoft holding back a better version? Hey All, I know that MS are not offering an HDMI connection at launch, and they say they will offer it later... but i am wondering if a launch xbox 360 will even be capable of outputting HDMI... and if so, will we see come kakalash branded HDMI cable soon after launch? My worry is, that a year or less after, MS will release an xbox 360 Pro Gamer pack or something... which would have: HD-DVD Drive HDMI Digital out 2 Wireless Pads + Charge kit. Official Webcam
If they want to play back HD-DVD's, it better be capable of HDMI. The people behind HD-DVD and Blu-ray are not letting high definition video being outputted over 'insecure' methods, (IE component), only HDMI. Methinks it's perfectly capable of HDMI, why wouldn't it be?
Perhaps im wrong.. but HD Component output is not Digital... to output in digital would cost more... and MS have shown they wanted to keep the cost of the system down by not including things like Wireless Lan.
Component is analog, yes. I agree with your thinking, that in 1 year or so there will be a new "mega model" which will do HD-DVD with HDMI etc. MS has shown they aren't concerned that they have multiple models on the shelves, so this could be pretty likely.
Death to them! While i don't mind paying good money for the latest stuff, i dont like the idea of buying hardware that will quickly be replaced. That's why I don't do PC gaming. For the first time, i am wondering if MS have got this all wrong. My original PS2 TEST/Debug unit, made before launch, still playes all the latest stuff... I know sony have since released a new ps2, but I can't think of a title that would require me to buy the updated console.
