Hey XboxSurgeon, Actually the HDD plate is attached and sealed to the plastic container. I want to keep it all together for collector's sake. Were these given to the employees with a normal console faceplate with the green hard drive and controller? And did all of them come with the HDD label on the back?
They only came on the HDD itself and never came on the packages of those faceplates so it doesn't really make sense....
Yeah that was stuck on there by the owner, good spot when you have to go looking for it I guess. On another note it seems this was displayed on a window as the back is badly sun faded, that light blue color should be the bright green Xbox color. Everybody needs another HDD plate, too bad we don't know anyone who could stamp some out for us.
For sure. I just picked up that HDD on eBay last week. I need one for sure. But I did find a guy who engraved a few for me three year later back but they resemble the later plates and not the early/launch team ones that are metal and wrap around the entire wiener of the HDD.
I will. I had one made with my tag on it as well as this really cool xna one... Here is the LT version
Yeah I have an original that wraps around the entire plastic weiner, looks like these HDD plates need to be made just a tad bigger next time, but yeah I'll take one of those, who do I paypal? Also on another thread hijacking topic, hah! That circle design that's used on the 360's were first used at E3 2000.
I'm guessing plates with Gamertags on are worth more? I have a LT with a relatively big person's gamertag on. Not some random dev. Just wondered. Not giving out names Lol weiner.
Depends I guess, if it was any of the signatures on the faceplate I have I would pay a bit more to match up the console. These IMT faceplates were sent to people who didn't receive a console and also the console receivers got one, some put them on their consoles but these consoles shipped with a plain white faceplate.
I was actually working on making custom metal name plates for people on here but I had to put the project on hold due to my current living arrangements.
I have all the tools and hardware (except for bulk of the blank pieces of metal I have a few but if anyone knows where I can get more please pm me) required but don't have a shop space until sometime in the future. But once I get the project back on wheels I'll definitely let everyone know.
It's been a long time. I had several larger wieners made up because the seller at the time made plaques that look like achievements awarded. Let me grab some pics.... Thread officially off course... Perhaps the collective community can do a little research on these? I bought them on eBay long time ago back prior to my XS days. This was part of my falcon I modified the living hell out of. From what I recall, the seller did trophies and different engravings on plaques. These weiners are significantly bigger (insert joke here) than the HDD ones.
