So here's my problem. I have an iiyama prolite e2273hds which was donated to me from a friend. She would play Eve on it and do so by connecting it via HDMI to her Macbook Air. Occasionally the iiyama would just stop working (blank screen) on her for no apparent reason. Well anyway, now I have the screen which I use to play my Xbox 360 (the more modern design), it's gone off on me a few times but you simply unplug the HDMI and pop it back in and all is well, just what my friend use to do. Today I fired up the Xbox and after around 10 mins it went off and now no matter what I do it will not find the console, all I get is "no signal". I have turned it all off and on in every way you can imagine, I have checked all cables and I have set the monitor to HDMI only (it was on auto before) and still no joy. Am I missing something? If you have any advice at all or past experience with this issue please feel free to make a suggestion or ask questions if more information is required.
http://www.iiyama.com/gb_en/products/prolite-e2273hds-1/ other inputs work ok? Analog input connector VGA Digital input connector DVI-D, HDMI HDCP yes;
Unfortunately out of all the input ports for the iiyama I only have an HDMI lead to plug into it. All my other consoles are either SCART or RCA which the monitor does not accommodate for.
Working on it, I may have an old laptop with a damaged screen that my better half left here, in which case if I find it I can I will test the VGA input. Will keep the thread posted...
It could be a controller on the HDMI board. Happened on my TV, fried because of heat. You can get it fixed on Ebay for $100, but probably not worth it for you.
I think you may be right, I'm waiting to test it with another HDMI lead and device on the off chance that is my lead which I highly doubt. It is regularly around 30'C/86'F in my house thanks to a lack of AC and I'm right on the coast (high humidity) so your diagnosis is certainly plausible. And you're right about the cost to repair, the monitor is worth about €120/$133 brand new so not worth the repair at all. Oh well, back to the Sega on the CRT...
Cheers! I may give it a go in the future but I've no soldering iron or experience so for now it's the better half's new monitor
Looks like it was the cable after all that -.- I appear not to own enough equipment that needs HDMI cables
