can anyone confirm if the xbox pc adapter works with emulators like snes and genecyst etc? I am looking to get one for like $7.00 (amazon) and need it to work with these... should, right?
Genecyst? I don't exactly understand why you'd use a separate PC running DOS for a Genesis emulator when Kega Fusion works on XP, Vista and 7 and is basically unbeatable, if you were running it on XP or above I'd say it would but for DOS I'm unsure.
360 controllers work with any program that has controller/joystick support, so yes, they work with emulators. For the rare instance of programs that only accept keyboard inputs, you can always use Joy2Key or a similar program. The adapter I'm using is the official Microsoft wireless adapter. You can also use a wired controller. For those you have to install some software for it to work (there's also software for using them with a Mac). I can't say how third party adapters work because I've never tried them.
no no... just putting my broken 360 to use, via its controller on my pc. thanks for the answers everyone. are there even third party adapters? i recall that for a microsoft controller to sync it needs codes that only microsoft has. unless logitech is authorized to use them too or something similar.
The 360 wired ones plug into USB, it downloads the drivers and works instantly. My brother uses this for emulators. For wireless you need this USB receiver http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Windows/dp/B000HZFCT2 very cheap and should do what you want it to.
TY, i am a little concerned, it seems that depending on the company you buy it from you may get a cheap third party one. I don't like drivers and problems. But that was what I was asking, if there was any special deal getting THAT setup working with emulators such as snes9x and the like.
