Xbox 360 Problems/glitches?

Discussion in 'General Gaming' started by BowenArrow343, Dec 18, 2005.

  1. I was wondering if anyone has found any problems with the xbox 360 in terms of overheating emulator problems etc? I do not have one yet but was wondering if there was any foundation to the rumors listed. Any help or comments would be greatly helpful. Thanks.

There will always be a certain percentage of defective ones, but so far I haven't had any problems with overheating or anything. I haven't tried the BC, but they are constantly adding games. But my cat did headbutt my 360 over and ruined my Madden disc. But other than that no problems here.

Microsoft is doing some serious damage to themselves by not creating enough systems.

    Nope.
Had my system since launch and have used it heavily since then.
I've had 0 glitches and absolutely no problems with my 360 in any way. The thing has been rock solid for me, and will play the new and old games fine without any disc scratching or whatever other problems are being reported.

Then again, I keep my system and power brick in a well-ventilated area. I don't move the console when there's a disc inside it. Common sense stuff, really.

Count me in also as having a perfectly working 360, also my buddy who waited in line with me has 0 problems as well.

  8. thank you for your response. As I stated earlier I was just polling the public to see how it was shaping up.

  9. I know. The Best Buy out buy my house in Ohio is just now getting its first shipment post-release quantities. There were people linned up outside since Friday waiting for the Sunday shipment since they had it advetised in their add. I don't recall a system getting two waiting lines even after the system was released. I still have not figured out how Microsoft could not produce enough systems because it does not benefit them to create so much hype over rthe system and not produce enough for people to have one.

I've had my 360 since launch and have yet to have a problem.

Microsoft’s biggest mistake wasn't making enough systems. There are plenty of systems. The biggest mistake was launching in Japan without enough Japanese oriented games. That cut off supply for the rest of the world and slowed shipments to a trickle. What they should have done is skipped Japan till they were ready and instead launched in Oceania on Dec 10th. The remainder of the Japanese shipment should have been split between North America and Europe. That would have kept the supply more stable here while giving Microsoft time for a proper Japanese launch.

Few problems I had with mine (Nothing major, more or less technical):

-When I moved the 360 from the horizontal to vertical position, it would boot up, then restart when you tried to start it up. It continued in a loop 5 times before it went back to normal. Didn't have a problem since.

-Emulation has problems with sound (KOTOR I and II, mainly)

-PGR3 crashed once when I had the power supply on the floor. When I moved it to my metal rack, it didn't freeze again.

-Open button seems a bit stiff, have to press more then once to get it to open.

Loads of demo pod`s everywhere....which has to be done to a degree but where I live there are 2 game stores....they both have pods....also 2 other general stores they both have pod`s as well. Also in several electrical stores near my office they all have pod`s but don`t sell a whole lot of games!

Would be interesting to know how many there are!

I don`t have a 360 but several freinds do and none have had any problems at all

I've had mine for a few days now and its just been peachy (minus the damn region lock on rr6. ****).

Giving the japanese units to the USA would have done nada. There was only 150k units shipped to japan. Actualy the recent shipment to the states that bestbuy got the majority of was 300k unit and it still did not even come close to filling the needs of most people trying to get a unit. Many people have reported their stores getting 40-100 people lining up and only 20-30 people actualy walking away with a unit.

The only way it would have been easier on NA gamers is if there was not japan & european launch as that would have give them 2x as many units for launch (but $5 says they would have not shipped them all to make it seem like a total sell out).
