Due to weak sales and lack of interest, Microsoft is going to give the 360 another go in Japan. A German website GameFront indicates that Microsoft will be giving a press conference sometime this week and will announce the company’s new strategy. Earlier this year, the previous Xbox Japan boss was axed, presumably due to poor performance. June 29th is the date mentioned, but it’s not yet clear on what form this relaunch will take. The console is currently selling as well as the GameCube in Japan (about a thousand units a week), and thus if this supposed relaunch is going to be a success, MSoft needs to pull out all the stops. Price-lowering and bundling several titles are a quick fix, because at this point, Japanese consumers are waiting patiently for the upcoming Revolution and PS3 Kotaku Source : http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=15791
Ah, bless 'em, they're trying their hardest. In all vain of course. Not sure why they even bother with Japan - surely Xbox Japan must be running at a big loss.
I'm trying to find a link to game informer's april fools article "Microsoft calls a redo"... but i can't find it. BTW, just notice the new title skitzo....
Nothing short of Final Fantasy being announced as an exclusive is going to "save" the 360 in Japan. I'm hoping Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey can do the trick... but even then its just wishful thinking.
