From QJ.net Hopefully the 6/6/06 date doesn't end up being bad luck, but I have to admit, it sounds lke a good update! (The update should download automatically when you connect to Xbox Live!)
125 things that do nothing to make my gaming experience better. Way to go. This is like living in a house that has serious flaws and having someone fix them while you're living in the house and expecting you to be happy over the "improvements" that should have been done correctly in the first place.
The Download manager is huge, that was a massive problem with the UI previously. Downloading stuff was such a PITA with the singular method.
Just received the update myself. The differences are subtle but greatly improve the experience with the console. The UI is much faster and more responsive. It has also been confirmed that the firmware hack is still functional with this new dash/kernel.
Got it, but almost bricked my 360 in the process. When I first booted it gave the message that an update was there, so I clicked DL....as per usual with updates, the 360 sought fit to disconnect me from live mid download. So, I waited and it came up again, I hit update. Same thing, except this time it downloaded and was in the process of installing. So I go to re-connect to live..hit it...two loud thumps from my 360....I try to move the controller...nothing. I try holding the 360 logo....nothing. Oh shit. *waits for ring of death*. So eventually nothing happens and I turn off the 360. After one more Live Disconnect mid download (WTF!!!!!!!) it finally downloads and installs. Seems ok. Why the hell am I seeing an ad for HBO though? Why am I paying $50.00 to download ad's for television stations? :banghead: OH:
Good news that the UI is more responsive, up to now it seemed quite slow sometimes and gave me occasional graphic bug (very minor) when sliding from pages to pages. Especially when playing Xbox 1 games. Sabre
Downloaded and installed without a single problem over here. Seems much nicer and no tearing when the sidebar comes out.
I was happy just to see the Brazil area added. (even if the portuguese language was avaiable since launch). Let's hope they release the damn thing here asap. And with a decent price. 2.000 Reais for a imported version is just to much for a videogame...
Pretty awesome update. It just WOWED me actually. Basically, I bought the anime Dead Leaves this past weekend from Suncoast at the marked down price of $20. When I started to watch it in my 360 it would stutter at one part and skip to the next chapter, but the rest of the movie would be fine. THis annoyed me so I was going to take it back today but... ... with the update, when it gets to that part it says "attempting to read disc" and just pushes through without skipping the chapter. F'ing awesome. Download options are great as well!
