    Hello all! :)

I would like to embark on a bit of an XBOX 360 modding project. My plan is to RGH a Jasper and pop it in a PC case and water cool it. I know none of that is strictly necessary, it's just for fun!

Has anyone got any experience with water cooling a 360? I know there are some custom solutions but they are mostly expensive assuming they can still be bought anywhere at all. Are there any off-the-shelf parts I could buy that would be suitable or are easily modified to become suitable?

    Appreciate any advice!

I've seen it done in the past. There were kits available but they were just PC cooling kits from what I can tell.

I'm sure all you need is a way of attaching PC water blocks to the CPU and GPU, then powering the whole setup off one supply.

Thanks, I've seen that Koolance kit before but I don't think you can buy one for love nor (reasonable) money these days sadly.

I think you might have "missed the boat" on commercial kits for the 360. I'd focus on modding a PC waterblock to do the job.

Well, I'm not called Sloth for nothing. :p

Modding a PC waterblock sounds like it might be a bit beyond my skillset.

Depends. Some waterblocks can attach to multiple CPU socket types. Perhaps the xbox 360 heatsink bracket holes are closer matched to an older CPU type.. perhaps a socket 775 or something.
Start by measuring the bracket dimensions from the screw holes and check against PC coolers. If one type is close then a little drilling might make it work.
I wanted to do an Xbox360 in a tower case mod a long time ago. I was going to add the HD-DVD drive too :)

good luck with it this gives me nightmares just thinking about it going back to where I did a water cooled system.... lets just say the system ended up getting fried due to a leak.

Use distilled water or minral oil.

My aged gaming PC (it was high end in 2010!) is the only time I've dabbled with water cooling, and that's a basic all-in-one unit. I've never built a system with a separate pump/reservoir/etc so leaks are a concern.

after that system fried I just stuck with air cooled picked up a good cheap window AC unit and pumped cold air into the computer worked great better than the water cooled setup
