xbox 360

hi guys I connected a 500gb external hdd to my xbox 360 and formatted it. but xbox only showing 31.5gb anyideas why please

 

It is limited in software sadly, there are some work around's however.

1. Mod the system to use the external HDD as an internal one (only some models of 360 are compatible)
2. Flash the HDD with Xbox 360 FW (only compatible with some HDD's ie WD Blue ect)

If you have a Trinity Xbox 360 Slim then you can go the first rout (I am using the same thing on mine and yes it works fine online). This mod may work on a Phat 360 also but I have never tried...

The next system update for 360 will handle up to 2TB for external storage.

 

Syclopse is right, the next update will be able to handle up to 2TB USB external hard drives. There is no need for mods. The update should be coming very soon.

 

You still won't be able to save everything too it..
But for most people that's fine I don't know why they didn't do that sooner

 

Money that is why i think back in 09 and 10 120GBS went for $100+ they go for around $70 now
