A little more info would be helpful. What revision is your Xbox? What is the media you used (as in all info on it: type, speed, ect.)? Type of DVD drive the Xbox has? Need to know all this before we can help out. Those DVD drives in the Xbox are finicky on what type of CD and DVD media they can take for backups.

No need to patch XBEs if you're running a backup...

let's see: Xbox is Soft Modded:
I'm Running Evox not sure which version though, let me get you back on that however the DVD drive is a Samsung Toshiba SDG-605 Rev. A,
the disc i used is a Phillips DVD+R (frankly i don't think its the problem since i have made a backup of my MK DA days prior using the same type of disc, brand, etc and it worked like a charm)

XISO was made from Cxbox tools, using FTP DVD Rip. Xiso was burned via Imgburn @ X8 and my second attempt was with X3 which is the lowest speed i can burn.
now the xbox was manufactured on 2004-10-29 so its an earlier model? o_O?

I've heard that on some games you do and with MK DA, i had to patched it because the first time i burned it to the DVD+R w/out patching, i ended up with a coaster :/

If you run the game off the HDD does it work that way?
Another option you can try is make an ISO by using Craxtion.

You have a 1.6 and I suggest trying Qwix.

yes i believe so but i've tried running sonic heroes off my hd and it works but that's because i read somewhere that it when you run off the HD the games is auto-patched? not really sure how it works so don't quote me on that but yeah it works. though i prefer to have on Dvd since my HD is an original retail, meaning since it limited to 8 gigs :/

Craxtion auto patches as soon as you drag and drop the folder to create an ISO. I've done it many times :)

I know of some older BIOSes on modchips which didn't allow running of certaing games, eg Shenmue, Indiana Jones... (probably some others too).
Could be that the softmod is 'outdated'? I mean, not 100% compatible with every game.

Rather possible yes, some games will launch but give you a "disc maybe dirty or damaged" error. It's just some games do not work... I doubt even through a modchip... I've found most games do work however, it's just a very small amount.

I only had to hexedit that Japanese wrestling game, also the Microsoft karaoke soft or whatever, is they both kept performing a 'disc present' check. I know of 1 game which might run from HDD but has some nasty protection, thus performing some sort of bug when running from HDD (Fight Club), this will probably work fine from disc though. Everything else works perfectly fine.
