Microsoft just posted a countdown clock to E3 with the words "And it's on" http://majornelson.com/2013/01/02/countdown-to-e3-2013/ So this must be the beginning of the marketing for the new Xbox. Or maybe the new Fable? How about the sequel to Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts? I guess we'll see.
Wow, a 5 month countdown clock is pretty optimistic. Looking forward to some more news in the coming months.
It could mean anything.2013 is still a full year for current gen games so I doubt a new XBOX is going to be announced. Next year.... New XBOX this year 360 goes out with a bang
Why are they counting down to an event five months from now? Its obviously going to be a big announcement from them. And the words Its On were carefully chosen. Think before judging next time.
It was a stupid comment that he had. But I understand what he is saying. The title clearly says "New XBOX confirmed for E3" and no where in the thread does it confirm that the new XBOX is going to be at E3. The only place that it mentions the new XBOX is the comments. I'm with everyone else who believes that the next XBOX will be announced at E3 this year, but being speculative of the meaning behind the countdown, saying it's about the next XBOX doesn't mean that it is confirmed.
Thats true, I think I jumped the gun on the thread title. I can't change it though unfortunately with the edit feature. If the mods want to lock it thats fine. Just wanted to point to the countdown and big things are probably coming like a new console.
The probable reason there is a countdown is because Microsoft Game Studios, and every other first and third-party developer, are going to be cramming to create their presentations for E3. It's like the months leading up to a premier of a movie. Every event that Microsoft has is going to be big. They will obviously put everything they've got into every announcement, whether it's about new hardware or not. The words "it is on" do not confirm, or suggest, a new console in any way.
It can be lots of things, including the announcement of a new console. But that's no confirmation. Anyway, i'll fix the topic title.
If it 'was' the announcement of a new console surely early developers would have leaked something by now. 5 months isn't far away, in the grand scheme of things. I wouldn't be that optimistic, unless of course we do start to see some shots of early hardware, etc, over the coming months. If not, it's a game of some sort.. probably.
It is likely that both Sony and Microsoft's consoles will be unveiled at E3 this year. However, the countdown doesn't exactly allude to that. I'm sure it's going to be an exciting year at E3 this time around, though. "Destiny" will almost certainly be an Xbox exclusive, just like all of the Halo franchise.
Nope, there's very few things that are confirmed about Destiny and one is that it's going to be multiplatform, with the only other platformed confirmed is PS3. They no longer are owned by Microsoft nor do they have any publishing deals with Microsoft. Edit: You got to keep in mind that Bungie has a publishing contract with Activision now, and not Microsoft. The only platforms that they are developing, that's at least confirmed is the XBOX 360 and the PS3. PC/Mac is a possibility but I think Wii U is out of the question.
Halo is the property of Microsoft, but Destiny is not. There's no reason it should be exclusive. But rumour and speculation has it being a timed exclusive when it launches in Fall 2013, and releases in 2014 on Playstation and PC. But the game hasn't been officially talked about much, and Destiny is only a code name.
All? No it's not. Halo was on PC as well. Not sure about the rest of the series. I couldn't care anyway, I'm not a fanboy of Halo.
The "Xbox On", your always on single source of entertainment and home automation. The new Kinect 2 will follow you around your home turning lights on and setting the microwave based on your new all-home gesture controls... Shoot me now.
This will be the new console at E3 , hopefully they can produce enough chips for the boards by that time to be able to sell these things as fast as they would go.
