Ok about a month ago i ran across a xbox debug kit. The manufacture on the console was November 2002 i believe.. well it was 2002 sometime. anyways the xdk was stuck in MS mode so i thought i would restore it i wasnt thinking that the Remote recovery was built in 2003. well i ran the remote recovery and my console started to update and then it stoped and said update failed. the only thing i could do is reboot so i did and now when i turn on the console it starts then makes a wierd sound then freezes. Can anyone give me any times on how i can possably fix this console with a recovery disk or anything. Thanx
It wasn't the recovery's fault, unless you have a beta debug kit. Also, to fix it, you would need to try recovering your disc with a recovery disc...if that doesn't work, you would need to manually reflash the TSOP, because it isn't a HDD file issue.

Doob E Snack, yeah, it says beta live at the bottom... ...Does yours have it too? Also, people may have removed the MS Equipment barcode for legal reasons, just a thought.
yeah but the one that is broke does not say beta live. i have a working won or i think semi working one that says BETA LIVE on the bottom. it wont connect to partner net and it wont read my prieview games that play on some of my other consoles it plays the game then crashes? Idk but this is a totally differnt problem and i might just trash both consoles unless i can get them working i will try to recover with a recovery..
IDK this looks like the same thing i have but mine says Beta Live at the bottom and says Debug Kit on the side like a normal XDK
well i think the Xbox Live Beta kit are rare but idk how rare. i will research on it. I dont think it is screwed up at all. Its a special xbox running a differnt kernel thats why it wont read any other privew builds and can not be updated with a XDK recovery. I will read more on the subject and i will decide what i am going to do with this.
A beta live kit is closer to a retail kit than debug. Also this should be of help. http://www.gamerhistory.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=298
