Yes, that's it. I don't know if it is worth doing know, since dvd-r media is cheap and you can always transfer games to HDD of XDK.
you've always been able to do both those things. But neither acts like an original dvd. dvd-r quality can be horribly lacking. Not the mention some games go over 4.7 gigs. HDD will always load much better than the actual disc. The emulation makes it as close to an original dvd as it'll get. good for final testing before submitting a title.
Yeh, the Raptor DVD Emulator is an essential piece of kit, especially for laying out the data tracks and testing variables before submission. ...There really is no substitute if you're gonna do the job properly :smt023
I don't know where you live, but in Poland it's not a problem to buy DVD-R 9 discs nowdays. We have also one dev kit, but due to cheaper price of debugs we're using them. Just for beta test purposes. I don't know yet what will we do after we end out project
DVD+R 9 discs are easy to get here, but they dont help when you need to emulate three different drive speed / access time scenario's! ...Only the Raptor does this with ease, accuracy and repeatability :smt023
