Xbox Debug

I have recently purchased an Xbox Debug kit and it will be arriving sometime tomorrow. Is there any easy way to upgrade the HDD or is it locked like a retail unit, if so can I just use Xbox HDM (Hard Drive Maker) just like on my modded unit?

Technically it's unlocked.

Whack in a new drive, insert a Recovery disc and bingo, job's a good 'un!

 

Also a dev/debug kit has a hdd limitation of 137gb,and for F drive support you need to use fdrive.dxt,use Xbox Neighborhood to install it under development drive and the F drive needs to be formated as well.

 

Thanks for the help.. so when I get it if i wanna install say a 500gb I need to use this "fdrive.dxt?" When I get it I might need a big of guidance :dance:

oh I gotcha so 137gb is the max no matter what.. well its nice to know the HDD is atleast unlocked, one more question Sata to IDE does not work with the original xbox correct? :katamari2

 

I remember seeing somewhere, some sort of adapter a sata to ide sort of thing. Try googling it

from what i saw on some xbox-chip-haCkerz-chinese-sale-site they were advertising it would work (may have worked co-with there chip but doubt it).
but this was ages ago

 

So best bet would be to fork over the money for an IDE hdd? :banghead:

 

Yes a sata to ide adapter does work on a xbox.

 

IDE HDDs are stupid cheap.

Don't bother with an adapter.
