I'm looking to put my recently acquired signed xbox in a display case and found this site:

    http://store.casesforcollectibles.com/index.html

If the dimensions of the xbox are 12" x 8" x 4", how big of a case should I get. How much room should I leave on the sides?

I'd say enough depth so that you can have a controller in front of the system and at least 3inches on the sides. But have the height at least a foot because of the xbox being only 8"inches..

Let me clarify, its 12" wide x 8" long x 4" high... so do you mean like 6 or 7" height for a case madhatter? Idk about putting a controller in there, but what does everyone else think? And if anyone's wondering about what the box looks like, its the Bungie box and is pictured in my collection thread.

I'd toss a duke in there... a Dakota if you can get one...

I just suggested the controller to add something extra to look at if you were to publicly display it.

But yeh, you don't want the display too tight around the item. 6 inches high is good.

I guess a controller wouldnt be such a bad idea... so I guess maybe a 20" x 12" x 8" which leave room to put a controller on the side or 16" x 16" x 8" for a controller in the front. You know anyone with dakotas and do u have any pics of those?

I'd just do the console. A controller would leave you with wires. Wires are ugly.

remove the wires, cut the cord, or you could make a custom display stand with a plexi-glass top
