    Good night,

Firstly thank you to everyone who opened the topic to help!

My xbox stopped recognizing the hd, whatever he's good hd tested in other xbox which worked perfectly, and when he put it simply error of 07 straight. I changed the flat cables, tested the source, did everything.

However could not solve, I think problem is in the console plate. Could someone give me a hand? Which piece of hardware should I check?

he is unlocked via chip, and it was with the auto instaler cd player, should recognize, but not recognized!

I'd assume, if the HD worked in another XBOX, is to check and confirm jumper settings on both the DVD drive and hard drive.
    Master/Slave/Cable Select etc

You can't have both as master, that's not how's it works.
someones got to be on the bottom.

The funny thing is that all work on other xbox with them this way, but they already tried out the master option also, what most intrigues him is going straight to error 07 forever! follow photos of the board. I removed the unlock only for the photos at the time of the test, it was unlocked.

So do you have both dvd and hdd set to master ?
you can't do that, set hdd as master and dvd as slave..
Or dvd as master and hdd as cable select (that's how mine is set)

I already did put in cable select and it did not work! I think it's a hardware problem, do you think it may be some EPPROM chip or something that recognizes the hardware hdd ??????

If the mobo is stock you will need a hdd with the correct key installed (it will also need the correct files on there too).
i can dump your hdd key from the motherboard for you if you are in Australia ..

OK crash course in xbox security.
The Xbox uses a standard ATA locking security, basically each xbox from factory has a unique key burnt into its eeprom. The HDD is matched to this key at the factory, the hdd will not allow ANY ACCESS to it's data unless it is given this key!

The Error number 7 you are getting means the xbox can't load the dashboard, this is because A it could not successfully "pair" with the disk because the new disk has no key written too it and the xbox dashboard software is no where to be found(even if you put the software on the disk the xbox will still refuse to read it because you have not written the eeprom key to the new disk[the hdd key lockout works in two directions])

So what needs to be done is:

A: Retrieve the Key from the Xbox Motherboard
B: Write the "KEY" to the HDD and Write the Xbox Dash Software too the HDD

    Hope this makes sense

I'm in the process of making a tutorial on how to do this

There are tons of ways of changing the HDD both on hardmodded and softmodded systems. The best thing you can have is a modchip, because then you don't even need to lock the HDD.

To all friends thanks for the replies,

I am not in australia, and yes I understand the intensive course, thank you very much.
Installed MODCHIP alladin on xbox board, forgot to mention that it took just to take photos and send to you in this way, with NO CD SELF INSTALLER DRIVE CD, a new hd he should ask to format.

However, he does not ask to format or anything, just shows error 07.

In short, the current situation is:

    -HD Tested in other xbox.
    - Unlocked by MODCHIP ALLADIN
    - Ide cable tested and replaced
    -source tested the voltage
    -drive ok cd.

However NO hd is recognized, goes straight to error 07, although as I already said. HD being 100% and the cd auto installer, which already used to fix various xbox is fully functional!

I thought the problem to be EPPROM, what do you think ????
I do not know which part beyond it would be responsible for the xbox hd.

If it has a modchip installed it should work fine, even if the Eeprom is messed up.
I would verify that the xbox is 100% trying to boot from the alladin chip. I would physically ground out the D0 point on the motherboard.
run a wire from the D0 point to the grounding pad for the nearest screw, that would ensure that the xbox is booting from the LPC port and not TSOP.
unlocked harddrives work fine in modchipped systems, if it still doesn't work with the D0 point grounded and the Alladin chip installed then I say you need a new xbox.
