I've been doing some Drake of the 99 Dragons modding for some reason and I came across a few E3 demo files. The game stores most of it's assets in an archive file called "pack.csa". Files are archived like this because fatx only allows for 4096 files in a directory. With an archive the developers can "emulate" a directory with more than 4096 files.

I wrote a tool to extract the files from the pack.csa archive and some files for the E3 demo, ComicCon, OXM, PC, etc. I modified the archive to point to the main menus for these demos rather than the retail menu.

E3, ComicCon, OXM, and PC all load up same demo and all suck equally. I'm not sure if it made it into retail in some way or not. The PC demo menu still shows all the xbox controls. I don't know if they were trying to gauge interest at that point or what.

Another menu I found has a "dev" option, but it won't let me select any of the options. Maybe with some debugging it will be accessible at some point.

Finally, there was some menu that was less playable than the game itself as it immediately freezes my xbox. This menu was interesting because it didn't have a background like the other menus and there's a "missions" menu option.

I didn't bother to make a mod enabling the other five or so menus because they all seem pretty much the same.

I've included a download link to the modified "pack.csa" files that enable the menus. Just install drake of the 99 dragons like you normally would, and replace the pack.csa file with the modded one.

Here are some pictures of the menus and one of the demo level. I don't have any screen capture software set up on my softmod box so the pictures are sub par.

I didn't know anybody still cared about this game, let alone cared about it when it was initally released. I liked it, but I'm fully aware it is a very poor game. Interesting stuff. Thanks for sharing.
