Thats good news I guess. I say xbox is going to win the console wars but thats just my take on it, I could be well wrong.

 

Impressive if the figures have not been accountant doctored, played with and massaged to come out better than they really are lol

 

I do the Gob Bluth chicken dance to that.

I'd counter that with something but I'm in no position to do that (since I'm basically accusing Nintendo of the same thing)

 

Too bad I'm not Microsoft or Nintendo or Sony and don't get any of that god damn fucking money they charge me.

 

If you count the Nintendo Wii, then no, the 360 will not be coming out on top.

If you do not count the Nintendo Wii, then I would imagine the 360 would wind up on top.

 

And if you don't count Wii or PS3, bound to come on top.

 

1-Launch a console late and having no idea of how the markets works

2-Lose a lot of money

3-Rush a poorly designed replacement, kill the first one

4-Lose a gigant wad of cash, see the replacement burn constantly

5-????

6-PROFIT!

Anyways, they better keep up 'cause theres another $5574 millions to recoup.

It's good news, but how long until it pays for all the money spent?

 

I think that's a long way ahead, but this is a start - a start that I personally thought would never come the way things were going with the 360.

 

I think the next machine will be exciting, as MS will have learned from the mistakes it has made with the Xb360 and has plenty of time to get it right. IBM now has the 8core PPC chip - I wonder if MS will use that?

 

Yeah, ought to be pretty cool. Last I read, rumors were either 4 core or 8 core and a terabyte hard drive, but who knows. Terabyte makes sense when you think about digital distribution.

 

HEADLINE: Thread title states obvious, many still seemingly suprised.

 

If they learned anything the next Xbox will be just twice as powerful as the X360, will have some really innovative controls (the "wii strategy") and use components that will be both cheap and low-power/heat.

I was thinking that PA may design the next CPU, but since apple recently bought them I guess MS may have to go to the only other guys that can provide them with a powerful chip that wont burn itself: Intel.

They better ask for a cutom design this time, instead of slapping another pentium (core in this case) and call it done.

Because Apple constantly slags off MS and it is well known Bill Gates was/is green with envy over the success of the ipod.
