I just tried signing in to Xbox Live and it's doing this weird thing over and over. First, it automatically signs into my profile because it's set up to do that. It doesn't automatically attempt to connect to Xbox Live, though, even though it's set up to do that as well. Then I hit "Connect to Xbox Live" and the dashboard pops up and says that it's connecting. In the background you can see that it's connected and working. However, after a few seconds the dashboard slides away and it has signed me out of my profile. It does this every time I try to connect to Xbox Live and with all of my profiles. It randomly does other weird stuff too, but this is what's been happening pretty consistently. There was an update just yesterday, so I wonder if it's to blame. I haven't seen anything about it on the internet, though.
On what, my router or the 360? Besides, that shouldn't make a difference since it was just working yesterday and I haven't changed any settings since then.
my xbox 1 would automatically change it sometimes. Just check it on your 360. You never know. That's part of trouble shooting...
Well for one thing, I don't see anywhere to change DHCP settings. For another thing, that's not the problem because it actually does connect to Xbox Live. It's just that as soon as it connects it signs me out of my profile and consequently disconnects from Xbox Live. I did, however, find out a way to circumvent this problem by running the "Test Connection" thingy in the settings and then trying to connect to Live, but this is pointless because as soon as I try to log in to a game it says that I'm not logged in to Live, and when I tell it to connect it locks up. There's something messed up with either the hardware or the software of the 360. Also, BTW, you don't need to quote my post when you answer directly after me.
It's just a habit about the quoteing posts. I'm not being able to sign into live either right now... edit: i just called microsoft. they're having network issues. they said wait an hour and try back.
they're doing maintenance tonight. http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2007/11/12/xbox-live-maintenance-11-13.aspx perhaps someone decided to start early
