I have a modchipped Xbox here (X2.6) that I'm trying to install a fresh hard drive in to. When I go through the one click modchip install in AID, or just do the manual format and dashboard install, it keeps looping at startup. If I just install the MS dash, it boots fine.

What gives? All I'm trying to do is have Evo X as the main dash on bootup but it doesn't like it.

I have a Slayers disc which works fine, but that installs too much stuff.

Edit - ok so sods law I figure it out a minute after I post. I tried the Unleash X one click install and it worked fine, so I'm assuming there's something missing from the Evo X install on the disc. Oh well.

Do you have a bunch of trainers installed? EvoX will bootloop if you have too many. Another reason why I always mention EvoX is NOT a good default dash, as this can happen. Possibly another feature is missing but apart from that, EvoX is bloody buggy.

    Hope that helps you out.

Thanks bud. Yeah it does seem to add a mountain of trainers when installing EvoX. I'll have to go back to my source files at some point and create a better install disc.

For some reason I just prefer Evo X. I know it's not a popular choice but I prefer the layout and ease of navigation.

Welp there's your issue. All you have to do is make sure you don't flood it with trainers :)

I still use Evo-X on my XBox, and have done since I got it (about ten years ago now). Granted Unleash-X and XBMC are probably much better, but if it ain't broke I prefer not to mess with it in case I do break it. I only use Evo-X for loading stuff (games, XBMC, DVD2XBox, etc) and for FTPing to/from the XBox, and I've never had any problems with any of that.
