Hey guys, Looking to upgrade my Xbox HDD to a 80GB one from a skybox (I saw that they were compatible and my mate had a spare one.) I want to put on Coin Ops, I have a few questions about how to do it. 1 - My xbox is Softmodded already as I have had it FTPed before trying to put coin ops on original HDD, can I just FTP again and take the files of there that make it softmodded and just dump them on the new HDD 2 - Were can I get Coin ops from ? I looked on there forum but they said it was else were and I couldn't find the full version 3 - How do I replace the hard drive and Prep the new one ? ie What programs and processes are there. Cheers for the help in advance.
I am not sure if this is the only method, but I know that works. I increased my xbox's HDD to a 200gb drive by cloning it with a CHIMP linux boot disk. I had to hook the original 10GB drive and the new drive up to an old PC i had laying around and let it run for a couple hours. Once it successfully cloned the drive I went into the xbox and then went into the unleashX settings and made sure that the F and G drives were enabled so that I could use the newly acquired space I just added. I rebooted and viola, big harddrive is now usable. I know I am not explaining this very well but here is a tut I found that explains it a different way If you do a quick search in google you can find coinops downloads from other gaming forums.
1 - Nope it won't work that way 2 - Have a look at the Coinops release forum, there should be links in there for the various versions - http://coinopsproject.freeforums.org/coinops-releases-f41.html 3 - You can either build the new hard drive using a program called XboxHDM (hard drive maker) and then do a hotswap, or you can clone the drive as kylethedude has said using a program called Chimp. There's loads of tutorials out there if you google it, or you could have a look at this thread as it gets discussed a bit later on.
