While it is, unfortunately, not my own video, The developers of Kingdom Come: Deliverance have made an unboxing of one of their new Xbox One Devkits. Although pretty much the same as a retail kit I think it is still a cool video.
I have to agree to an extent. MS tends to overreact in situations but I feel seeing how it is a legitimate studio and that Xbox One is out I don't think they will bother with it. I can be wrong though MS is very unpredictable. Just wished the kits were more interesting instead of just stickers...
I feel like Microsoft is being much more open with development on the Xbox One. I don't see them making a big deal unless they would go out and do a full tour of the software and the tools.
They don't really show much about the console. No close-ups of the QR Codes, no close ups on the serial numbers, don't show it booting up. Fact is if anyone wants to go to the ID@XBOX webpage it clearly states approved applicants get 2 development kit models until they get the whole retail-to-devkit thing up and running. So none of this is a big secret. With that being said, it is Microsoft and they probably will lose their shit under the guise of an NDA violation.
Doesn't seem like they showed too much in the video. Looks like a normal Xbone with a sticker on it. It's probably fine.
when partner net was the worlds worst kept secret they had devs locked into agreements to deny all existance
