So I remembered watching this video a while back last year and never posted it. But since I guess the majority of you dont watch worldstarhiphop, you will never see it haha. But here it is
The Xbox can be a TestKit or DevKit, I can't see the label, however... you can see pics here from both kits! Xbox One Dev: http://goo.gl/AM6HmY (Proto Type) Xbox One Test: http://goo.gl/WMTG6m Serial numbers and QR just censored for security.
I'm just now seeing this post and after looking through the images NetYaroze shared I have to say one thing. The censorship done is very poor. The QR code on some can be repaired quite easily, the barcodes were censored terribly as they don't read the part that's censored, they read the part you've left untouched (IE the whole barcode and the space between the black lines - if you've looked into this you would know how barcodes work, and you've done nothing but expose the important info on it). That said, even though you've censored serial numbers and ID numbers, the same info is retrieved from barcodes, making your censoring useless. I'm not trying to pick a fight, but I REALLY suggest that if you wish to sell these like you are, be sure to just cover the WHOLE barcodes and QR codes and any other ID information instead of blurring it. It not only puts the buyer at risk, but also makes things especially easy to shut down the console and revoke usage. Now back to the OP, I recall seeing this video. The father got fired for his son's actions.
Why people don't ask first to talk about bullshit of ban and other shit? don't look stupid, the barcode is the SAME on both kits (testing kits have own and devkits have another) remember to I have 2 x each type, so this is not important as the NUMBERS under the barcode, over that, I don't want to censore these to look like damaged but censore just to can't be read by any QR system, I try this personally and can't be recognized ...so what's the point? The most important thing in these kits is the numbers under the barcode and QR code only, and no one of these can be read, pictures are edited and edited, I don't think you will be able to get the original QR code, and censored numbers are too more edited to look another... I love the paint app. Note: you really think all kits was made with million barcodes? XD
I just went to the effort or taking one of the barcodes, resized it, and made it scannable and the result is the console's serial number for the barcode I picked. Try it yourself. It'll be hard work but I can tell you that this was a very poor job at redacting vital information. Your QR code censoring is fine, but you don't seem to understand how important the barcodes are or how they work. The barcodes give the numbers you censored. That means you've left the console wide open for deactivation as well as potentially the person who signed the contracts could get in a ton of legal issues because now that the barcode with the serial number is in the open it's all fair game for Microsoft. I want you to understand that even though you feel you dont want to censor/blur/pixelize the every part of the stickers, its BETTER to do that so you protect the item more. At the absolute least, just understand why not censoring the barcodes was a horrible idea. The QR codes cant be read, but if the barcodes can then that makes the QR code censoring pointless because they all contain the same information. Furthermore, QR codes and barcodes aren't the same thing. They can hold the same data, but they are certainly 2 different ID entities. I'm not wanting to start a war but I have issues containing myself when it comes to protecting information. It really gets to me and I have to speak up about it.
QR codes send you to developers site with special ID access, I just checked the link, not made access or used the link, so that's all I know, serial number under the barcode is just for identification, like any other product to have serial code, even power cables have serial numbers. My supplier do not removed or censored these even if send me just pictures without purchase, I don't see reason to do it at all, also because you can't get serial number or even read correcty the QR code, so what's the point of this discussion? I don't believe on things like that...
The image made me giggle, but the point is, censor it all or dont censor it at all. Don't do half censoring or selective censoring. That or at least use a tool that makes it white or black or something. Blurring and pixelizing are one of the worst censors you can use. But to stay on the thread, is it possible for you to upload footage of the Xbox One XDKs? Like is there any visual differences on screen when using a devkit? It could be good to share stuff like that for those who get their hands on one and want to operate it properly.
No because I have these already packaged and moved out, as told time ago, no more test/dev or other kits at my home also because these shits load my house with lot of boxes, so these are ready for shipping in case of purchase, and would not check the Xbox anyway as require internet if I am not wrong, I am not Xbox user All these kits are however working, until today not received not working units, he is the "President" of a closed videogame company so all perfect
It has been said before, but if anyone is still in doubt, I can too read some of those bar-codes. took a bit of photo-shop, but after that, its piece of cake. But the kits and images are awesome and I truly hope the final owners enjoy them. (if you collect them, and they still go online, block your codes) My 360 is a frankendevkit, internaly serial numbers totaly dont match the outside, checked with MS(somehow) and got 3 xboxes for 1 kit...stay away from taobao in this case.
From what I heard they gut them now I got a hold of a Prototype Xbox One and it was missing the HDD and the top and faceplate where the QR Codes are at. But the ones that do make it out alive are now only going to work as Retails lol.
i note a few on ebay with missing plastics & hdd / Disc drive , i wonder if they could be gutted XDK's
