I only noticed this the other night, that it was quite difficult to open the snap feature. The button slowly releases, as opposed to springing back instantly like a normal button. It barely gets used, so it seem to just happen on it's own :\

I haven't opened the controller yet, but is there anything I should look out for if anyone here has done so already? It's a limited edition controller, so I really don't want to take it back to the store and get a regular one back..

It uses a membrane pad like most other controllers (360, xbox ps3 ect)..
Hopes the rubber membrane has just come out of place or there is gunk in around the guide button..

Open it up, worst case you have to steal a membrane from a normal controller

I think it maybe gunk, I tapped the button really fast, and it seems to be responding a lot better now. Apparently the guide button area is hard to get to.

I would recommend to contact MS customer service, I also had problems with a limited edition controller (A-button was not functioning properly). On the phone they can check if they still have replacement LE controllers in stock for swap/repair.

maybe gunk down in there. when you open it take note of the freescale kinetis Arm cortex m0+ and the XBOX re-branded Qualcomm Atheros QCA4002 and the fact that its a dual board construction. i find that interesting they went with freescale instead of using NXP or something which would be cheaper...

If you call them they may just send a controller and not ask for the faulty one back
