http://news.xbox.com/2013/08/xbox-one-confirmed-markets Missing the holiday season in no less than 8 countries could bring a big impact upon the One's release, especially when Sony is planning to release in those countries before Christmas.
Maybe this is ensuring that the preorders can be completed and avoid a fiasco like the Japan dreamcast launch. Of course it does suck that sony will be launching there first. Some of the countries left off are big though. Netherlands? Sweden? very poor choices. If this is related to a shortage of units I do not think Those two would be left off the list in favor of Mexico, a poor country as opposed to those two. Maybe this is related to laws.
Hm... what about Japan? I would think that would be one of the first countries to see a release, but it's not even on that list.
360 bombed in japan so it's not really THAT big of a suprise, Belgium being one of the countries delayed is a pretty big suprise however, Brussells is considered to be the capital of europe sometimes (thats where alot of big meetings are held anyway)
Sure, but Brussels isn't really that big either, nor is Belgium in itself. It's mostly a political capital.
I'm not sure holiday release is that significant of a deal outside of North America. Maybe some parts of Europe, but I believe the U.S takes the cake when it comes to holiday shopping.
As far as i know, there's no laws in Finland that could interfere with having xbox released here. I could be wrong though. It's propably something else. I can see Finland not being big enough a player to count on such a race, so we get it late, just like everything else compared to the rest of the world ever since NES xD oh well, im happy with not buying any new console of this generation for the first time in my entire life. Xbox one is horrible, and while ps4 looks better, it's still horrible enough to make me leave it on the shelf.
