XBOX Orange Top

I finally decided to remove the official orange top off my XBOX to show others that it is not a fake. Enjoy the pictures.

 

People knew it wasn't fake...

 

Where's the bottom half anyway?

 

He threw it out to prove that it wasn't fake.

 

There was a few tops made sitting the in office at MS (plastics engineer or someone like that). So some were just given away and people swapped the tops. Very few full cases were made.

Does this mean it'll end up on eBay soon?

I've noticed when stuff gets posted here on AG it always arrives on eBay under 1 of 2 eBay accounts. So I'd assume now that I'm seeing this orange top again, it will show up on eBay soon.

 

If that's true, why do they not also post that said stuff is for sale on ebay?

 

Not as vibrant as the Halo orange console was though..... Could it have been a crystal console dyed orange?

I'm still skeptical.

 

mmm206 replied to me with some more information on the orange lids. It is so awesome that he was able to answer me back.

We made whatever was in the photo I posted, not more than 50. I probably brought back 10-20 to the office. I may have handed out a few covers to folks in the office that might have made it out into the wild.
If you are not sure about the provenance you can send me some photos up close of the tooling and logo marks on the inside which are visible from the outside.

If I get more info on it, I will post it here.

 

If it turns out legit, which I'm leaning toward, you got a buyer in me if you wanna part with it.

 

This is such a beautiful item. You're very lucky to have it. Any original XBOX collector, myself included, would love to have it. Thanks for the pictures.
