XBOX Original - EEPROM Reader issues

Hi, I've built EEMPROM reader for my Xbox cause my HDD died and I don't have any chip or tsop (console is v1.6 virgin, never opened before). And after connecting reader to LPC port on X motherboard and to PC I have strange issue - after powering on PC and Xbox - Xbox LED change to Orange and after few seconds console is shutting down :/ I know that Orange LED mean short circuit/overheat but I've built another 2 readers and checked them for short circuits and still I have same issue... :/ Any Ideas?

 

Don't power it up with the EEPROM reader in the PC. Power up, then connect your EEPROM reader to your PC. The problem should be gone.

 

doesnt the eprom reader supply power to the chip , you shouldnt even need the xbox turned on at all
