    Hi Guys,

Has anyone ever had any major issues with removing the RF shield from the inside of the Xbox (the one that's attached to the top of the case). Want to remove mine but don't want it to cause any issues with either the components or any external devices that may be placed near the console.

    Thanks in advance :)

I believe the top of the shielding is what stops the RF creating noise on the video. Most since the screws are near it as well. I've found that with the majority of the shielding removed noise will happen, when I attached the top shielding back, the noise went away. 3rd party cables always had noise so if you have cheap aftermarket cables you'll get noise without shielding, experiment to what suits your setup.

    Hope that helps you bro.

Okay that's what I thought, I just wanted to see of anyone had any horror stories about removing it e.g. Failing hard drives due to interference or something like that. It all it does is cause potential interference with surrounding equipment then I think everything should be okay :). I've put the Xbox back under my TV without the RF shield and it doesn't appear to be causing any issues so I think everything is fine :). Thanks for the reply
