Xbox Softmod Kit

Ideally to buy but would a loan would be fine if not.

Not sure what you mean by "kit". Everything you need can be downloaded for free with the exception of buying a copy of "splinter cell" which usually runs about $5 and possibly a memory card which are all over for just a couple bucks.

I'll send a few links for what I've used in the past.

 

I'm sure by a kit he means a game and either a memory card with the exploit files already on it or a memory card with a way of transferring everything.

What I did a few years ago was purchase an Xbox breakaway cable, spliced it with the female end of a male to female USB cable, and then hooked up a 2GB flash drive to it. Formatted it using the Xbox, transferred over the exploit files using my computer and FATXplorer, then copied them over to my Xbox and softmodded using Splinter Cell :3

Was cheaper and faster than tracking down a memory card and a way of transferring from my PC.

 

and for me I already had a memory card & splinter cell, so I just downloaded what I needed. I sent him a few helpful links, but none to the exact files (don't remember where I got them).

 

You can aslo do completely free without memory cards or exploitable games.

I once did it for free as well, not sure if this is what @americandad did but I had to use an old PC with IDE ports and burn off a custom Linux distro for installing all the necessary softmod stuff to the Xbox.

Essentially I had to boot from the CD, turn on the Xbox and at a certain time hotswap the HDD by unplugging it from the Xbox and plugging it into my PC while the Xbox was still on. Once the hard drive was unlocked and the swap was successful I was able to do all the softmodding from my PC. Once I was done I turned everything off, hooked it up as it needed to be, and rebooted the Xbox. Was useful when the DVD drive didn't work!

 

Kind of like that, minus the linux distro. Hotswap the hdd, then fire up xplorer360 in windows and copy & paste a softmod to the xbox hdd. Google xbox hotswap softmod.
Doesn't have to be a pc that old. Some relatively moden motherboards have a spare ide port on board (like my asus p8p67 LE from 2011).

 

I have a USB and Xbox cable with exploits loaded, I can sell you.

Basically being lazy and seeing if someone has everything around ready to use!

 

I see, I see! But not as easy to do as using a thumbdrive (1) with softmod game saves loaded on it, USB adaptor cable (2) to access/copy files to xbox HDD with MS Dashboard and an original exploitable game disc (3) to load said game save to install the softmod. No real PC with IDE port needed for hot swap, no opening Xbox case for hot swap, etc. Get the three (3) numbered items above to make a softmod kit and become a softmodding master!

 

The difference isn't easyness, it's cost. One method is free the other needs to be payed for.

 

FREE here is relative as you need a PC with an IDE port. If you have one already, good -- FREE; if not, cost involved -- not FREE!

Three piece softmod kit cost:

• Original exploitable game - ~$5
• Xbox controller port to USB adapter - depending upon your source - $2-$10
• Softmod game save files - FREE!

Comes down to this. There's more than one way to soft mod your Xbox. Decide which method works best for you.

 

Or dump eeprom and build a new hdd that's soft modded and locked and just swap it out.

 

Sure, it comes down to what is more suitable for you personally.
