    Hi,
I know it's a pretty random and weird Idea, especially as I would haev no Idea on how to do this, but idsthere any chance that one could make a converter that converts the Xbox 1 Controller signal to 360?
I mean the way that you could use a Duke on the 360?

If it's possible, would it be "easy" to do, easy in terms of it not costing thousands of dollars and needing a year to develop?

    1) Open a 360 controller and an xbox controller.
    2) Proceed to hand wire each button across both controllers.
    3) Enjoy!

Only method available to anyone in the next week.

Actually this wouldn't be the only use of it, as this would be pretty easy to do (sure needs some work though),
I would also like to use the Steel Battalion Controller on the 360, that's the actual reason why I am asking about a signal converter and not rewiring (didn't really state that in my 1st post, sorry :p).

The easiest approach would be make a "driver" for the XBOX360 controller on the XBOX.

But then that would require a lot of programming and I don't think many people bothered with disassembling the XBOX kernel.

original XBOX controllers are based on the USB protocol and are modified USB ports from what I recall, although I am far from an expert on the XBOX.

Sorry if I didn't put that clear enough, but I'm wanting to do this the other way round, I want to use old Xbox 1 controllers on the Xbox 360.

@ Barcode, well, X360 Controllers (wired ones) are also using USB, just that the Old Xbox is using USB 1.1 Ports and the X360 USB 2.0 ports.....
I would also be happy with a driver especially for the STeel Battalion Controller (there's one for PC, called vtchid), but I guess that would be harder to implent than to build some kind of signal converter.

EDIT: Does anyone here have a XCM XFPS Sniper? If so, could it be possible to use a Xbox 1 contrroller with this one? ( I suppose not, but who knows?)

There's no way to use XBOX controllers on the XBOX360 as the XBOX360 has an requirement of digital ceritificates on the controller for it to work.

The only thing that will get your XBOX controller working on the 360 is the suggested method of wiring the buttons to an real XBOX360 controller...

Sorry to ruin the idea ...

    but that's how it goes.

I think the game is hardcoded to work with the controller.
It works in any way with other games on the old xbox?

Yeah, that's why I asked for a "simple" signal converter, other than that I only see either a software solution, or maybe the XIM3, as this is kinda programmable.

Problem about both is that software is involved and that usually ain't easy if it's about consoles, so we would need someone who can code and has experience with Xbox and is actually interested in getting this to work on the 360.
Volunteers are welcome :p (although I doubt there will be someone who is interested in doing this ~.~)

No, the SB controller only works with Steel Battalion and Steel Battalion:Line of Contact (online version).

There just isn't a simple way to do this. Even if you could get an XBox controller working on a 360 you'd only have the same amount of buttons available on the Steel Battlion controller as you would a regular controller.

X-Y=Z (Y being the number of buttons on the 360 controller, X being total buttons on the SB controller with Z being the number of unusable buttons).

You could take it apart and make the buttons usable as macros I suppose but then you'd likely have to make the SB controller pretty much useless for SB.

What game could you possibly think would begin to utilize such a controller properly?

crap, just another radnom Idea (yeah, I don't really have any Idea about software stuff) is it possible to remove the controller certificate Check on a Jtag?

I was thinking about using it with Steel Battalion by the way :p

i do see what your trying to get at hear and i will do my best to explain what im going to do abort this idea when i get some money for parts
so what im going to do is destroy a xbox 360 controller and the wire all of the buttons up to the "out" of a programmable logic controller like a arduino then connect a plug from the xbox 1 console to the "in" of the arduino now i will put code on the arduino that will look for a button input press witch will look something like ]]^A the program will see this as the A button is being pressed and then out to the the volt to the pin for the A button for the 360 controller makes sence probably not cos i cant spell to save my self any-who i will have a crack at this when i finish some of the other xbox projects i have going...the really lol thing is as i was righting this i was looking around my desk and found the parts i need for this meanly my arduino ^_^
